Club career

The winger Rocheteau began his career in 1972 at AS Saint-Étienne , one of the top clubs of the 1970s . His first game as a professional, he played in the 1973/74 season, where he at first French champion was, however, as in the title defense the following season - and not with the two cup victories of Stéphanois 1974 and 1975 - did not belong to the starting eleven . He only succeeded in 1975/76 when the “Greens” ( Les Verts ) from Saint-Étienne won their third title in a row. During this time he was nicknamed "The Green Angel" by fans and the press. His greatest success in those years was reaching the final of the European Cup against Bayern Munich in 1976 , which the French club lost 1-0. He also made his debut in the national team in 1975.

In 1980 he moved to the capital club Paris Saint-Germain , with whom he was again French champion in 1986 and also twice cup winners (1982 and 1983). From 1987 to 1989 he played for two years at FC Toulouse until the end of his active career .

Although Rocheteau shone through his cross runs and assists, he was also extremely dangerous. He ranked high in the French scorer list of Division 1 several times: 1978/79 in 4th place (21 hits), 1980/81 place 7 (16), 1984/85 place 6 (15), 1985/86 place 2 (19) . He has also played a total of 32 European games and scored 6 goals (21/3 for Saint-Étienne, 11/3 for PSG).
