Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie Reshard (* 7. April 1986 in Bradenton , Florida ), nicknamed " DRC ", a US American football poker players on the position of the cornerbacks . He plays for the Washington Redskins in the National Football League (NFL). Rodgers-Cromartie played college football at Tennessee State University .

He is a cousin of Antonio Cromartie (most recently Indianapolis Colts ) and Marcus Cromartie (most recently Detroit Lions ), who also played as cornerbacks in the NFL.

Rodgers-Cromartie was born with a defective kidney that was removed from him when he was eight. However, this did not hinder his sports career. Rodgers-Cromartie played high school football at Lakewood Ranch High School as a defensive back and wide receiver , and he was also a sprinter on the track and field team.

college

Although he only played in the Division I-AA in college, he convinced both in the Senior Bowl and during the NFL Combine and was selected in the 2008 NFL Draft in the first round, the 16th player overall, by the Arizona Cardinals . He signed a five-year contract worth a total of 15.1 million US dollars .

NFL

Initially used as a nickelback , he became one of the two regular cornerbacks from day nine . After his first two interceptions in the game against the Seattle Seahawks in week eleven , he scored a game-winning interception return touchdown against the St. Louis Rams in week 14 . He carried the ball over 99 yards into the opposing end zone .

In the play-offs he scored two more interceptions and reached the Super Bowl with the Cardinals . In Super Bowl XLIII, however, they lost to the Pittsburgh Steelers .

In his second season he was elected to the Pro Bowl , but could not participate in the game due to an injury.

After 11 seasons in the NFL, he initially announced his resignation on October 30, 2018, but signed a new contract with the Washington Redskins five months later.
