Don Fellows

Don Fellows (born December 22, 1922 in Salt Lake City , † October 21, 2007 in London ) was an American actor .

Life

The Salt Lake City-born Fellows grew up in Madison , Wisconsin , where he studied drama at the University of Wisconsin-Madison under Lee Strasberg . One of his classmates was Marilyn Monroe . After the end of World War II, during which he served in the Navy, he moved to New York City . He first appeared as an extra alongside Henry Fonda in Mister Roberts on Broadway in 1958 , but later got a speaking role. This was followed by a long break from the stage caused by his excessive stage fright. He returned to the stage alongside Julie Harris in Marathon '33 in 1952 and played in both Broadway and off-Broadway productions through the late 1960s . In 1969 he went to London, where he had various engagements at the West End theaters, including the musical Promises, Promises by Neil Simon , Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream and Arthur Miller's The Moment of Truth .

He returned to New York in the same year, but then moved to England for good in 1973, where his film career began. He played in a number of world successes, including The Omen , Hunter of the Lost Ark and in the two Superman films Superman II - Alone Against All and Superman IV - The World on the Edge .

From the 1970s, Fellows also played in British television productions, including Dial M for Murder , Spy Trap , Moon Base Alpha 1 and Inspector Morse .
