Village chapel Pfrentsch
The Roman Catholic village chapel Pfrentsch is located in the Pfrentsch district of the Upper Palatinate municipality of Waidhaus . The chapel is that of St. Blessed Virgin Mary and she belongs to the Burkhardsrieth Expositur .
history
The first chapel was built here in 1689 by Franz Ferdinand von Rummel , who later became the prince-bishop of the diocese of Vienna . Since the chapel appeared to be too small at the beginning of the 20th century, the parish priest Reiser von Pleystein asked the diocese of Regensburg on September 23, 1910 for approval of a new and larger chapel; he was given permission to do so on October 29, 1910. Hans Solfrank from Weiden in the Upper Palatinate created the plan for this based on a design by Heinrich Hauberrisser from Regensburg . The newly built chapel now has space for 30 people.
The inauguration of the chapel took place in 1912; Frater Günther Heigl von Pfreimd consecrated the Way of the Cross on March 7, 1914.
Construction
The church is built in the neo-baroque style. It is a steep roof building with a choir closed on three sides . On the roof there is a ridge turret with an onion hood . A baroque-looking tail gable was planned on one side, but this was not implemented. A sacristy has been dismantled to the side. A renovation of the chapel and redesign of the outdoor facilities took place in 2016. There are archaeological traces of the previous building under the chapel.
Interior
The altar and picture of the Immaculate Conception were created by the sculptor Franz Loibl from Regensburg, the Way of the Cross was made by Ernest Bernhard from Munich based on a design by Feuerstein . The bell was delivered by Johann Hahn from Landshut . In 1936 Maria Voit donated a new St. Konrad bell that was cast by Karl Hahn, Regensburg.
