Eßbach village church
The Evangelical Lutheran village church Eßbach is in Eßbach , a community in the Saale-Orla district in Thuringia . The church belongs to the parish association Ziegenrück in church circle Schleiz the Evangelical Church in Central Germany .
history
There was a church in Eßbach even before the Reformation . In 1544 the parish Eßbach was parished into the parish of Volkmannsdorf by the parish church of St. Bartholomäus and St. Nikolaus in Ziegenrück . It was not until 1869 that the parish was reunited with Ziegenrück. The present day church was built in 1784. After a lightning strike, the church was restored.
description
The rectangular church hall on a floor plan 25 by 7.80 meters, with a slate-covered gabled roof covered, which in the region of the chorus a roof turret with a curved cover and open lantern , which are also slated. On the other side it is hipped . The plastered nave has large arched windows and rectangular doors . The pulpit altar has double pillars , rocailles on the cheeks and an attachment in which Christ appears between two angels .
The bells, 88, 70 and 58 cm high, were cast by Johann Moritz Heinrich Ulrich in 1842 and consecrated in the church on the 1st of Advent 1842. During World War II the large and middle bells were melted down . In 1963, a middle bell was cast by Franz August Schilling .
The organ , created by Carl Friedrich Tischendorf in 1782, has 9 registers , divided into 2 manuals and a pedal . The prospectus is decorated with rocailles and two musical angels .
