Groß Schulzendorf village church

The Protestant village church Groß Schulzendorf is a baroque hall church in Groß Schulzendorf , a district of the city of Ludwigsfelde in the district of Teltow-Fläming in the state of Brandenburg . The church belongs to the Protestant parish Löwenbruch in Kirchenkreis Zossen Fläming the Evangelical Church Berlin-Brandenburg-Silesian Oberlausitz .

location

The street Dorfaue leads through the Angerdorf in a west-east direction , which is elliptical in the center around the historic Anger. In the area enclosed in this way, the sacred building stands on a non- fenced area in the western area.

history

At the time of construction there are no precise details. Groß Schulzendorf was founded by Flemings in the 14th century . It is conceivable that they built a church, but there is no evidence of this in the 21st century. The Groß Schulzendorf cultural and development association considers it conceivable that a building has already been erected at this point in time. This would be supported by the fact that there is a wall made of uncut field stones between the church tower and the nave . In the Dehio manual , the construction date is given as “probably from 1744” - possibly on the foundation of a previous building. The parish also states this year in a church guide. 1886 Advanced congregation the structure to a cross-house and a chorus square to a Kreuzkirche . This gave them space for a circumferential gallery to take account of the growing number of believers. During the First World War , they had to hand over the bronze bells as part of a metal donation by the German people , and in 1927 they bought three new cast steel bells . In the years 1960 to 1967 the parish rebuilt the galleries down to the west gallery. A winter church was created underneath by installing a partition . Furthermore, she removed the previously attached memorial plaques for those who died in the world wars. In 2003 craftsmen renovated the interior and in 2007 the church tower. In 2004 the parish bought a used organ from the Jehmlich company in Dresden .

Building description

View from the south

The building is brownish-gray plastered over a large area and rests on a gray, surrounding plinth. The choir is straight and has not moved in. Its corners are accentuated by wide pilaster strips . On the east side, in a segment-arch- shaped panel, there are two segment-arch- shaped windows and above them a circular window, all of which are made of lead glazing . The left window shows the miraculous multiplication of the bread , the right the wedding at Cana . In the circular window above it, Jesus Christ is depicted as Agnus Dei ( Gospel according to John , (1.29 EU )). There is a small, rectangular window on the north wall of the choir. This is also available on the south side. There is also a rectangular extension with another window on the south side and a gate on the east side.

The nave is dominated by the transept, each with two large, segment-arched windows, to which another window is added to the west.

The west tower is square and slightly indented opposite the nave. It can be entered through a simple, pressed-segment arched portal on the west side. While a window has been incorporated on the south side, there is a plastered panel on the corresponding north side . The boarded tower floor follows above a surrounding cornice . There are narrow sound arcades on each side . This is followed by a curved tower hood with an attachment in which a tower clock was installed on the west and east sides. Above the pyramid roof , the tower ends with a tower ball and weather vane .

Furnishing

The pulpit and the altar , as well as the rest of the church furnishings, are modern and contemporary. The inside of the structure is flat covered.

The bells have a connecting signature from the Gospel according to Luke (2.14 EU ). The largest bell reads “Glory to God on high”, the middle one “and peace on earth”, supplemented by “Human pleasure” on the smallest bell.
