The Evangelical Lutheran , listed village church Niederreißen is in Niederreißen , a district of the rural community Ilmtal-Weinstrasse in the Weimarer Land district of Thuringia . The parish tearing down part of the parish area Buttstaedt in Kirchenkreis Apolda Buttstaedt the Evangelical Church in Central Germany .

The partially Romanesque hall church from the 12th century was redesigned in the second half of the 18th century. It has a retracted square choir tower with an eight-sided, slate-roofed tower on which sits a bulbous dome with a lantern . The apse is attached to the tower .

The interior has three-sided two-storey galleries . The nave , which was built in the Romanesque architectural style , is covered with a gable roof on the outside and a wooden mirror vault on the inside , the choir has a wooden barrel vault .

The small pulpit altar has Jesus Christ , Moses and putti as carved statuettes . The stone baptismal font has balusters as a base, it was created in 1610 by Nikolaus Theiner . The organ with 13 registers , distributed over 2 manuals and pedal , was built in 1870 by the Peternell brothers and restored in 2000 by Rösel & Hercher Orgelbau .
