Dorian Gray (actress)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Dorian Gray (actually Maria Luisa Mangini ; born February 2, 1928 in Bozen , † February 15, 2011 in Torcegno ) was an Italian actress .

Life

Gray was initially successful in the role of "blond innocence" on the theater stage, in revues and quickly also in film. At first she started out as a ballerina; trained at the Scala worried Aurel Millos . Then she learned from Pina Renzi . She made her debut in the piece Votate per Venere (1950) with Erminio Macario and Gino Bramieri . In the following year, she accepted the offer to go to the film and acted in several films. But she had greater success on stage in plays such as Gran baraonda or Made in Italy ; in the mid-1950s she was cast as femme fatale and highlighted by contemporary critics for Passio doppio with Ugo Tognazzi and Raimondo Vianello .

Now the film offers became more interesting; she played in comedies as well as under Federico Fellini and Michelangelo Antonioni . Until 1963 she played in a number of films; thereafter only two more times until she finally retired into private life in 1967.

Gray died of suicide in 2011.
