Dorothea Iser

Dorothea Iser (born July 18, 1946 in Elbingerode (Harz) ) is a German writer .

Life, career

She grew up in the Harz villages of Sophienhof and Rothesütte . After her high school and the education - studying in Weimar was followed in 1967 the exam, then the use as educator in a youth Werkhof for socially endangered in Burg . After attempts to write in a group of writing workers led by Heinz Kruschel , a distance learning course at the Literature Institute in Leipzig followed from 1975 to 1978 . She has been working as a freelancer since 1980. She founded the Friedrich-Bödecker-Kreis in Saxony-Anhalt eV and was its managing director until 2000. She is a member of the PEN Center Germany and a member of the European artists' association Die Kogge . She is also married and has two children and grandchildren. Today she lives in Niegripp near Burg. There she founded her own publishing house in 2003, Dorise-Verlag , whose publishing headquarters were relocated to Kerspleben in 2010 .

In addition to prose texts and novels , Dorothea Iser mainly writes short, concise poems , often combined with photographs . She maintains the short form in which she expresses personal experiences. Her poems thrive on surprising twists and turns and paradoxes . In addition to her own work, she publishes the results of writing workshops.
