Doubravka (Dobraken)

Doubravka (German: Dobraken ) is a part of the municipality of Bělá nad Radbuzou in Okres Domažlice in West Bohemia in the Czech Republic .

Geographical location

Doubravka is located on the western slope of the 563 meter high Zámecký vrch (Castle Hill) on the north bank of the Radbuza about four kilometers east of Bělá.

history

Doubek refers to the young oak, doubrava is the oak forest. The German place name Dobraken is onomatopoeically based on the Czech Doubravka.

Doubravka was first mentioned in writing in 1408. In 1656 Doubravka had 7 farmers, a Chalupner, two gardeners, 32 teams, 31 cows, 44 young cattle, a sheep and 55 pigs.

Doubravka had been an independent parish since 1878, which belonged to Heiligenkreuz in a manorial and ecclesiastical way as early as 1629 . In 1839 Doubravka had 21 houses and 132 inhabitants, in 1913 22 houses, 126 inhabitants, 9 farmers, 2 quarter farmers, 5 small farmers, a mill, 5 cottagers and a parish hall.

After the Munich Agreement , Doubravka was added to the German Empire and belonged to the Bischofteinitz district until 1945 .
