Plešský Mlýn , also Veský Mlýn (German village mill , also Plösser mill ) is a deserted area on the cadastre of Pleš in the municipality of Bělá nad Radbuzou in Okres Domažlice in West Bohemia in the Czech Republic .
geography
The hamlet of Plešský Mlýn was about one kilometer south of Pleš at the confluence of the Weißbach and Braunbachl rivers near the German-Czech border, on the German side of which the Plößerlohe was located. He had a small chapel, two houses, the actual mill with an annex and a few farm buildings.
history
Dorfmühle belonged to Franz Steiner, who bought the mill around 1902 and modernized it. He replaced the old mill wheel with a Francis turbine , with which he generated the electricity he needed. The mill had a grinder for rye and a sawmill with which the raw material for the manufacture of chip boxes was produced. It was entered in the water book in 1873 . Franz Steiner was arrested in 1944 after frankly expressing his opinion on the Hitler attack. A few weeks later the news came that he had died of illness in a camp near Dresden . The village mill was destroyed in 1949.
