Karlova Huť (German Karlbach or Karlbachhütte ) is a part of the municipality of Bělá nad Radbuzou in Okres Domažlice in West Bohemia in the Czech Republic .
Geographical location
Karlova Huť (Karlbach) is located about five kilometers west of Bělá nad Radbuzou (German: Weißensulz) in a forest clearing on the slope of the 660 m high Dlouhy vrch (German: Rutschberg) on Huťsky potok (German: Karlbach), which is about three kilometers further southwest rises on the slopes of the 862 m high Velký Zvon and flows into the Radbuza about two kilometers further east .
The state road in 2155 comes from Eslarn by Tillyschanz , crossed the border to the Czech Republic and continues there as a road No. 197 through. Železná to Bělá nad Radbuzou (German: Weißensulz). This road leads about seven kilometers west of Bělá over a 610 m high pass between the 655 m high Bukowina and the 660 m high Dlouhy vrch. About 500 m west of the pass, a forest path branches off this road, which after about 400 m reaches Karlova Huť.
history
Karlbach was first mentioned in 1696 when a glassworks was founded there, which was still producing customs mirrors in 1839. In 1789 it was listed as a small village with 8 houses and 57 inhabitants under the Fideikommissherrschaft Heiligenkreuz .
In 1913 Karlbach had a glass factory, 12 houses and 151 residents and was incorporated into Schmolau . The Hanka or black saw with 3 houses also belonged to Karlbach. The census of December 1, 1930 reports the following result for Karlbach:
- Karlbach: 14 houses, 151 German residents, 3 foreigners.
Today (2013) Karlova Huť is not permanently inhabited. There are some holiday homes and a mountain hut that is open from time to time.

Karlova Huť is part of the Smolov cadastral district.
Culture and sights
The Way of St. James Prague - Tillyschanz comes from Smolov, about two kilometers to the east . Behind Karlova Huť it continues via Walddorf and Ruhstein to Železná . It is marked with I24 and is called Svatojakubská cesta in Czech.
