Dubai Pearl is the name of a skyscraper construction site in Dubai that is currently closed.

The construction of the high-rise group on the almost 500 meter diameter round plot in front of Palm Jumeirah began in 2008 and should be completed in phases by 2018. The building ensemble should reach a height of 300 meters.

The building should not be particularly impressive because of its height, but because of its enormous proportions. It will consist of four towers that will be connected at the top and bottom. The extremely compact building will have 73 floors and a usable area of 1.8 million square meters. This corresponds to the usable area of 18 medium-sized skyscrapers, each 100,000 square meters. Due to its dimensions, the building will offer far more usable space than skyscrapers of comparable height. The facade is to be clad with blue shimmering glass for optical concealment. Dubai Pearl will form a self-contained enclave for tens of thousands of people and a. Housing apartments, offices, seven hotels, a theater with 1,800 seats, entertainment, retail and gastronomy.

In terms of its function, Dubai Pearl will be comparable to the somewhat lower Rockefeller Center in New York City . From Abu Dhabi coming Al Fahim Group is financing the construction project.

The construction of the high-rise complex has been stopped for unknown reasons. Some of the eight cranes on the construction site were dismantled.
