The E.ON Netz GmbH was founded in 2000 with the merger of Bayernwerk AG and PreussenElektra AG E.ON Energie founded AG. E.ON Netz has been a pure high-voltage network operator since 2009 and is responsible for the largest supra-regional electricity distribution network in Germany with a length of approx. 22,000 km over an area of approx. 140,000 km² . E.ON Netz was a 100% subsidiary of E.ON SE based in Düsseldorf . Since July 1, 2014, E.ON Hanse / Schleswig-Holstein Netz, Avacon and Bayernwerk have been responsible for the 110 kV network.
history
E.ON Netz GmbH was founded in 2000 when Bayernwerk AG and PreussenElektra AG merged to form E.ON Energie AG, but the company had existed since 1998 and was only renamed during the official merger in 2000.
In May 2009, the electricity transport network (220 kV / 380 kV) was separated from E.ON Netz GmbH and renamed Transpower Strom Transmission GmbH . On December 31, 2009, the state-owned Dutch network operator TenneT took over all shares in E.ON subsidiary Transpower Stromtransmission GmbH for EUR 1.1 billion ; this has been operating under the name Tennet TSO since 2010 .
