Eberhard Frey (born February 27, 1916 in Lauterbach (Sprottau district), Silesia (now Poland ), † March 6, 1993 in Bernburg (Saale) ) was a German painter and graphic artist .

Life

Eberhard Frey graduated from high school in Liegnitz in 1935 . From 1938 to 1939 and 1942 he studied at the United State Schools and at the College of Art Education, including with Willy Jaeckel in Berlin .

Then he was drafted into the war in the Second World War. In autumn 1945 he went to Gernrode in the Harz Mountains . There he worked as a freelance painter. He stayed in Gernrode until 1960 and moved on to Helbra and Eisleben . There he had a contract with the Mansfeld Combine .

He had been based in Bernburg since May 1968 , had contracts with three large companies producing cement, soda and rock salt, was also the head of a painting and drawing circle and later headed this circle at the adult education center.

Study trips to Leningrad (today Saint Petersburg ), Moscow , Kiev , the Caucasus , Georgia , and also to Budapest , Bucharest , Prague , Munich , the Moselle , Paris , Hamburg , Lübeck , Padua and Venice as well as South Tyrol followed.

Works are in the possession of the State Gallery Moritzburg in Halle , in the Museum Schloss Bernburg , Georgium Dessau , Art Museum Gera , Museum Bautzen as well as in private ownership. Exhibitions took place in Berlin, Halle, Dessau, Eisleben, Bernburg, Wittenberg, Quedlinburg and other places.
