Ed Hamm

Ed Hamm ( Edward Barton Hamm ; born April 13, 1906 in Lonoke , Lonoke County , Arkansas , † June 25, 1982 in Albany , Oregon ) was an American long jumper and Olympic champion .

On July 7, 1928, he set a world record with 7.90 m. Three weeks later he won the Olympic Games in Amsterdam ahead of Silvio Cator from Haiti, who was to replace him as a world record holder in early September.

In 1930 Hamm was once again world best of the year in the long jump with 7.77 m.
