Location of Eddinghausen in Lower Saxony

Eddinghausen is a district of the small town of Gronau (Leine) in the Hildesheim district in Lower Saxony .

geography

Eddinghausen is located east of Elze between the Weserbergland and Harz nature parks . It lies on the western flank of the Hildesheim forest .

In a northerly direction outside of the place are the remains of an old ring wall , the Beusterburg .

Incorporations

On March 1st, 1974 the communities Eddinghausen and Haus Escherde were incorporated into the community Betheln .

On November 1, 2016, Betheln was again incorporated with four other parishes in Gronau (Leine).

City Councilor and Mayor

Since November 1, 2016, Eddinghausen has been represented at the municipal level by the City Council of Gronau (Leine).

coat of arms

The municipality was awarded the coat of arms on May 22, 1938 by the President of the Province of Hanover . The district administrator from Alfeld presented it on November 14th of the same year.

Founding of the coat of arms: The small community of Eddinghausen was made up of four full mares, four Köthners and four craftsmen. Each stand is represented by one of the shamrocks in the coat of arms. The coat of arms symbol was invented by master wheelwright Stuke, Eddinghausen, and unanimously chosen by the mayor and local council.
