Heinum coat of arms
Blazon : "A natural-colored house martin in gold , sittingon a green water lily stem with a leaf facing downwards."
Justification for the coat of arms: For our peasantry, the swallow is not only the bringer of spring, but also the best gift of happiness. She therefore enjoys the unconditional protection of everyone in our villages, and to destroy a swallow's nest would mean driving happiness out of the house and yard! The purely rural community of Heinum chose this beautiful coat of arms with a truly deep meaning.

Natural monument

The headwaters of the Kreipau are about 500 m north of the village. The wetland with the spring and wet meadow areas on a lime-rich low moor was declared a natural monument in 1987 as the "Heinum water store" .
