Surname
The village takes its name from the Edelbach , which flows through the village and flows into the Kahl . The village is popularly known as "Ölbich" or "Ölmich".
history
Edelbach was first mentioned in a document in the 13th century in Eppstein's list of fiefdoms.
The municipality of Edelbach belonged to the Alzenau district office , which was formed on July 1, 1862. On January 1, 1939, this became part of the Alzenau district in Lower Franconia . When it was dissolved, Edelbach came to the newly formed district of Aschaffenburg on July 1, 1972 .
On January 1, 1976, the previously independent community was incorporated into Kleinkahl.
