As part of this working group, three students were the first German student group to carry out an experiment on the International Space Station in 2017 . The Kinderregenwald e.V. association is funded from the proceeds from these campaigns and fundraising. V. supports the conservation of the rainforest .

Junior company

In the junior company , students learn the marketing and production of goods, including business processes.

Wetland

The school looks after a biotope that is adjacent to the school grounds. The care of the biotope enables project work and practical biology lessons.

As part of the biotope networking concept of the city of Weingarten , a pond was created in 1995 with financial support from the state of Baden-Württemberg and the municipality and various plantings were carried out. Due to the fourteen-helper brook, which is a few meters away, this pond is a stepping stone biotope and is connected to other bodies of water such as Lanzenreuter Weiher, Kreuzbergweiher and Rösslerweiher , so that numerous species immigrated to the biotope in the first year. In the housing development concept and green space concept of the city of Weingarten, the areas around the biotope fall into the highest evaluation category for areas worthy of protection.

In 2016, students participated in the nationwide species mapping for amphibians and reptiles .
