Edoardo Teagno
Edoardo Teagno (born January 17, 1902 , † May 15, 1945 in or near Castelfranco Emilia ) was an Italian racing driver .
Life
In his career, Teagno mainly competed in Voiturette races. In 1937, for example, he took a Maserati 6CM at VI. International AVUS race in Berlin took third place behind Charles Martin and Luigi Platé in this category. In 1939 he won the Coppa Ciano in the Voiturette class at the Circuito di Montenero in Livorno . At the 1937 Mille Miglia , Teagno finished eighth with Nando Barbieri in an Alfa Romeo 6C 2300 GT Spider .
In 1937 and 1938 Edoardo Teagno started for the Scuderia Subauda in a Maserati 8CM in the Grand Prix European Championship of the AIACR . The best result was 14th place at the 1938 Swiss Grand Prix in Bremgarten near Bern .
Teagno had at the end of the Second World War the rank of Capitano in the Guardia Nazionale Repubblicana , the military police of the Italian Social Republic . He was murdered by anti-fascist partisans on May 15, 1945, along with the former party secretary of the PNF of Cuneo , Secondo Ronza, and another person in Emilia-Romagna , after the three of them had stolen a large amount of cash - 1.7 million lire - had been picked up.
