Edward Janiak (born August 14, 1952 in Malczyce ( German Maltsch ad Oder ), Lower Silesian Voivodeship , Poland ) is a Polish clergyman and Roman Catholic bishop of Kalisz .

Life

After graduating from high school, he entered the Archbishop's Seminary in Wroclaw . On May 19, 1979, he received the sacrament of ordination through the auxiliary bishop Wincenty Urban of Breslau .

On October 26, 1983 appointed him Pope John Paul II. To auxiliary bishop in Breslau and titular bishop of Scillium . In June 2020 he was admitted to a clinic, heavily drunk. He was previously accused of covering up sexual abuse by a priest in his diocese.
