Malczyce ( German Maltsch ad Oder ) is a place in the Średzki district in the Polish Voivodeship of Lower Silesia . It is located on the Oder, about halfway between Breslau and Liegnitz .
history
The port of the municipality on the Oder was an important coal loading port in Silesia and belonged to the Deutsche Reichsbahn . In 1941, the port handled larger volumes than Breslau . Since 1902 the Kleinbahn AG Jauer – Maltsch connected the place with Jauer. Until 1945 Maltsch was a municipality in the district of Neumarkt , district Breslau of the province of Silesia .
