Kostomłoty [ kɔstɔm'wɔtɨ ] ( German costs blood ) is a village in ŚRODA ŚLĄSKA COUNTY in the Province of Lower Silesia ( Poland ). It is also the seat of the rural community of the same name ( gmina wiejska ).
geography
The village is about 30 km west of Wroclaw and 13 km south of the district town Środa Śląska . The A4 Autostrada runs south of the village .
history
The first written mention of Kostomłoty comes from Bolesław IV. (Poland) in 1149. In 1241 Kostomłoty was granted town charter. The place was destroyed several times by fire and wars, especially the Thirty Years and the Seven Years' War . In the course of the Thirty Years' War Kostomłoty lost the town charter and was given it again in 1692 by Leopold I. In 1742 the village came under Prussian rule.
Until 1945 cost blood was a municipality in the district of Neumarkt , district Breslau of the province of Silesia .
From 1975 to 1998 the village belonged to the Wroclaw Voivodeship .
