Ehningsen is a district of the municipality Welver in the district of Soest , North Rhine-Westphalia . Ehningsen is located around 4 km southeast of the center of Welver. The district has 95 inhabitants.

On July 1, 1969, Ehningsen was merged with several other villages to form the new large municipality of Welver. The district is surrounded by agricultural land. The children go to kindergarten in Schwefe , schools are available in Borgeln , in Welver itself and in Soest .

economy

In Ehningsen there are still some full-time and part-time farms. A traveling shepherd is settled in Ehningsen. In the area of the district there are wind turbines as well as several photovoltaic and solar systems .

societies

Together with the districts Merklingsen and Eineckerholsen, Ehningsen forms the shooting club Ehningsen-Merklingsen-Eineckerholsen . The volunteer fire brigade has a fire fighting group in Ehningsen. It consists of 14 active firefighters (as of 2012) and a fire brigade association with 22 members. The fire brigade association regularly organizes events for the village community. There is also a winegrowers' association and a group of friends of old agricultural tractors.
