Einecke is part of the municipality of Welver . The village is located in the Soester Börde and is about 5 km away from the main town Welver. It is roughly in the city triangle Hamm - Soest - Werl , about 10 km from Soest and Werl and 25 km from Hamm. About 1 km south-east is Eineckerholsen .

On July 1, 1969, Einecke was incorporated into Welver.

Surname

Written mentions about Eincke can be found from 1240 with Walraveno de Endeke , around 1280 alone with Endeke . The derivation from an old Saxon name "Eniko" (not to be confused with Hungarian Enikö ) is rejected according to the more recent interpretation; rather, the obvious meaning of small end ( Westphalian for example: "Endken" (= Endchen)) finds support.
