Scheidingen is a village and belongs to the municipality of Welver in the district of Soest in North Rhine-Westphalia , Germany .

history

The Scheidingen house

The noble sex of Schedingen resulted in silver a gold and black geschachten oblique beams. The first documentary mention of Antonius von Schedingen is in 1233, he is mentioned as a knight in the entourage of Count von Arnsberg. The Scheidingen family on Scheidingen died out around 1450 and the Scheidingen house was sold. Another line only became extinct in the second half of the 16th century.

Incorporation

On July 1, 1969, Scheidingen was incorporated into Welver.

The house of Aul

The family who owned the house ( von der Berswordt ) had a golden boar on a red background in their coat of arms. Haus Aul was acquired by the barons of Fürstenberg zu Schloss Herdringen in 1840/41 . They briefly owned it and sold it again.

The Wasserhausen house

The family who owned the Wasserhausen ( von Lilien ) family had three black lilies on a silver background in their coat of arms.

The Schedingen house

The House of Schedingen ran a gold and black slanting beam in silver.

Culture and sights

The church windows from Scheidingen are very well-known and particularly lavishly designed. In 2006 they were restored as part of the complex church renovation.

Scheidinger fair

The Scheidinger Kirmes (also called Scheidinger Herbstkirmes) has always been known beyond the borders of the Soest district and experienced a renaissance in the 1990s, especially through the establishment of the traditional association to promote the Scheidinger Kirmes e. V. The fair always takes place on the first weekend in October.
