history

The place was mentioned in a document in 1245, in which the Walburgis monastery in Soest bona in Rikelinchusen prope Wevere sita (goods in Recklingsen near Welver) were transferred. Also the monastery Welver got in the 13th century property in the resort. A chapel with a cemetery in the center of the village, which is still remembered today by the field name Auf dem Kirchhof , was mentioned in 1381. The name of the hall, Amgericht , is reminiscent of the free or long court . A very old linden tree, popularly called Femelinde , stands there. The name of the hallway on Galgenstrasse refers to the former execution site. In the stock exchange register of 1685 there was the obligation. If the free court at Recklingsen is owned, soot must present 1 measure of wine, 1 roasted chicken, and 4 pounds of bread .

On July 1, 1969, Recklingsen merged with other villages to form the new municipality of Welver.
