The Eichberg and Talgrube nature reserve is located in the Saalfeld-Rudolstadt district in Thuringia . It extends northeast of Remda and Teichel and north of Heilsberg , all districts of the city of Rudolstadt . The state road L 1050 runs south of the area and the L 1052 north-east.

The 20.1 ha area with the NSG no. 156 was placed under nature protection in 1961.
