The nature reserve Schieferbrüche am Bocksberg is located in the Saalfeld-Rudolstadt district in Thuringia . It extends north of Zopten , a district of the municipality of Probstzella . The Loquitz , a tributary of the Saale , flows northeast and runs along the B 85 . The state road L 1098 and the state border with Bavaria run south.
