A whole guy for mom is a German comedy film and a love story by director Zoltan Spirandelli from 2002. In the lead role , Nina Kronjäger plays the lawyer and single mother of two children Tanja Bergmann.

action

At the beginning, a life-threatening situation is suggested in a most dramatic way: a woman tries to get into a rubber dinghy, apparently fighting for her life; She is followed by a menacing looking man who is also in the water. After she managed to get into the boat, she tries to keep the man at bay by repeatedly pushing him under water and hitting the alleged attacker with a paddle .

The viewer suspects that the end of the plot has already been reproduced, because the film starts again suddenly, but this time calmly: Tanja Bergmann intends to spend a holiday by the sea with her children Moritz and Friederike. When she arrives at the airport in Cannes , it becomes clear that Tanja and her children have a four-week holiday ahead of them on the Côte d'Azur , in which everything should be different, as usual: Tanja wants to stop smoking immediately and at the same time follow a strict diet .

When they arrive in the apartment, they find out that there must have been a fire in it shortly before: the entrance door falls out of its frame after a slight touch, the walls and furnishings are sooty and the windows have been boarded up in a makeshift way. The holidaymakers are then offered a holiday home, which is much larger and more comfortable than the originally rented apartment.

Shortly thereafter, however, it becomes clear that, due to an oversight, the house was also rented to the writer Paul Wackernagel at the same time, who chose it to write a book there in peace. Since there is no alternative for either Tanja or Paul, they live in the house together. After initial quarrels, Paul befriends Moritz, and ultimately also with Tanja, who initially wanted to prevent him from writing because she does not like books.

At a garden party at which Paul and Tanja end up in the swimming pool, the two initially get into an argument, but in the end they reconcile. Paul forgives Tanja that because of her disruptions the book turned out to be something completely different from what Paul had originally planned. At the very end, he confesses his love for her, whereupon she kisses him passionately.

Now the beginning of the plot also becomes clear, which was only recorded in a gloomy lighting mood and accompanied by dramatic music in order to initially give the viewer a completely different impression of the following plot.

The producer Dagmar Rosenbauer produced the film in 2002 with her own production company Cinecentrum - Deutsche Gesellschaft für Film- und Fernsehproduktion mbH ( Hamburg ) on behalf of Sat.1 .

criticism

The film critic Rainer Tittelbach judges disparagingly: “Macho author meets lawyer bitch. The typical contrast program for TV comedies. The film starts hard, gets dressed and then ends up back in German clothes. More Peter Alexander than Cary Grant, more Uschi Glas than Katherine Hephurn. What a shame!"
