Eisacktal (district community)

The district community Eisacktal ( Italian Comunità comprensoriale Valle Isarco ) was founded in 1968. The district community originally comprised 19 communities in the Eisack Valley and some side valleys. In 1980 the Wipptal district community was separated , and most of the lower Eisack valley belongs to the Salten-Schlern district community . The 13 united communities extend over an area of ​​624 km² with around 50,000 inhabitants (as of 2014). The capital is Brixen .

The municipalities of the district community are: Brixen , Barbian , Feldthurns , Klausen , Lajen , Lüsen , Mühlbach , Natz-Schabs , Rodeneck , Vahrn , Villanders , Villnöß and Waidbruck .
