Salten-Schlern

The district community Salten Schlern ( Italian Comunità Comprensoriale di Salto-Sciliar , Ladin Comunità raion Salten Sciliër ) is a consortium of 13 municipalities in the surroundings of Bolzano in South Tyrol ( Italy ). The district community is named after the Schlern and Salten mountains , an extensive high plateau on the Tschögglberg between Jenesien and Mölten .

The population of the 13 municipalities was around 50,000 in 2014, and the area amounts to 1,037 km². The headquarters are in Bolzano, which is not itself a member of the community.

The municipalities of the district community are: Deutschnofen , Jenesien , Karneid , Kastelruth , Mölten , Ritten , St. Christina in Val Gardena , Ortisei in Val Gardena , Sarntal , Tiers , Fiè allo Sciliar , Welschnofen and Selva Val Gardena .
