The 1988/89 season was the 29th season of the Eredivisie , the highest Dutch ice hockey division . The Rotterdam Pandas became champions for the second time in the club's history .

In the main round, each of the eight teams played a total of 28 games. The six best-placed teams in the main round qualified for the second phase of the season, the four best-placed teams qualified for the playoffs in which the champions were played. The six best-placed teams in the main round received between one and six bonus points for the second phase of the season. Each team received two points for a win, one point for a draw and zero points for a defeat.
