The 1998/99 season was the 39th season of the Eredivisie , the highest Dutch ice hockey division . The champions were the Nijmegen Tigers for the sixth time in the club's history . With the Phantoms Deurne from Antwerp , a Belgian team also played in the league.

In the main round, the six teams played 20 games each. The four best-placed teams qualified for the final round. According to their main round placement, the teams received between zero and three bonus points for the final round. All four teams in the final round qualified for the playoffs in which the champions were played out. Each team received three points for a win after regular time, two points for a win after overtime, one point for a loss after overtime and zero points for a defeat after regular time.
