Eizbrand is a German rock - band from Kempen in North Rhine-Westphalia . The band was formed in 2013 and is under contract with Rookies & Kings .

Surname

  • The "z" in Eizbrand is pronounced "s". Phonetic transcription: [ˈaɪsˌbʁant].
  • The name is a combination of words from a property of the old, unheated rehearsal room and a preference of the band for alcohol in the form of fruit brandy .

history

Founding to Herz aus Eiz (2013-2014)

In autumn 2013 Ruwen Herko, Chris West, Dennis Schiefner and Marcel Wittnebel founded a band. Guitarist Jan, who was also there from the start, has to leave the band after a few months for personal reasons. A former party cellar in Krefeld is converted into a rehearsal room and the first songs are written together. The song Years or Eternities sees the light of day in the music world towards the end of the year. The band is still nameless. In spring 2014 they agreed on the band name Eizbrand and from April 6-string Pascal Loest completed the band. The band spends the following months writing new songs. The EP Herz aus Eiz will be completed and released in December 2014 at the X-Mas FESTival in the Kempen campus , headliner: Provinztheather .

Courage to gap until POGO Festival (2015-2017)

Also in the first half of 2015 mainly new material will be produced. In September, the band supported with Infects the Asbecker band rock water at their album release in response factory Oberhausen. The bonus CD Mut zur L * cke , which was produced entirely in-house in the course of the year, is also offered here for the first time , which is sold out in a very short time and has not been reissued to this day. In December 2015 Eizbrand will appear at the X-Mas FESTival on Campus Kempen , headlining is Liedfett.

We move into a new rehearsal room in Tönisvorst . At the same time, the song We don't dance, we pog! written, which was used in the years 2017-2018 as the theme song for the POGO Festival . The first gig in front of a large audience is waiting in March 2016 - as support for the Krawall brothers in the Turbinenhalle Oberhausen . Other support acts include Martens Army , Fuel, and Residual Risk .

The third (of five rounds) is reached in the SPH band contest and the extensive work on a debut album will begin in the second half of the year. In the middle of the recordings, rhythm guitarist Pascal unfortunately has to leave the band for personal reasons and is replaced by Marco Braucks, previously bassist with the band 2Pages . In this context, Dennis switched to guitar. The new composition can be seen in October 2016 at the POGO Warmup as support from BRDigung alongside Neurotox , Unheart and Casual in the cult temple Oberhausen. A month later they share the stage in the opening act of Megaherz with Heldmaschine , Erdling and Eschenbach .

On February 3rd + 4th, 2017 Eizbrand will play on both days of the event at the POGO Festival in the Turbinenhalle Oberhausen . Other bands are Inviolable , KrawallBrüder , Berserker , Hämatom and die Kneipenterroristen .

Chris West left until Rookies & Kings (2017-2018)

After the POGO Festival, Chris tells the band that he has to throw in the towel due to time constraints. He will be replaced by Sascha Vidahl, who at this point is still active at the Klangstadt cover band. In summer 2017 there will be an appearance at the Ehrlich & Laut Festival . The rest of the year, besides renewed support for the riot brothers on their "more hate" tour, several local appearances. Including the third appearance at the Kempen X-Mas FESTival , headliner: B-Tight . After a few concerts in spring 2018, work on the debut album is accelerated. In collaboration with Jan Wiemers from Travelcoustic Recording, a first pre-production is being created, with which the band succeeds in being signed by the Rookies & Kings label .

We don't dance, we pog! to baptism of fire (2018-2019)

On December 16, 2018, the single We don't dance, we pogen! published, which was newly produced by Jörg Wartmann . At the same time, the collaboration with Rookies & Kings and the release of the debut album in 2019 will be announced. On March 1, 2019, Gegen dich will be the second single from the album produced by Jörg Wartmann. The third single will be released at the end of June. Have you already? and the band performs alongside In Flames , Powerwolf and Frei Wild at the Italian Alpine Flair Festival. The song We don't dance, we pogen! is included on the R&K Sampler Vol. II published on July 19, 2019 . On August 13, 2019, So we raise the glass, the last single from the album, which will be released in a few weeks later, will be released for the time being. From September 13, 2019-05. October 2019 Eizbrand is together with the Local Bastards , Alles mit Stil , Vienna's No. 1 and Martino Senzao part of the Rookies and Kings Tour 2019.

On October 4, 2019 appears baptism of fire , the debut album of the group at the label Rookies & Kings , which manages the debut at No. 66 in the German album charts on 11 October of 2019. On December 14, 2019, Eizbrand will take part in the X-Mas FESTival in Kempen for the fourth time , this time as the headliner.

Innocent Award until COVID-19 (2020)

On February 22nd, 2020 the band won the C&D Innocent Award from Berlin magazine Cute and Dangerous in the "Best Young Talent" category. From February 28, 2019 - 8. March 2019 Eizbrand supports the band Artefuckt on the complete Stigma Tour 2020. During COVID-19 the boys from NIederrhein participate in the charity project Wilde Flamme for the single Engel, Retter and Helden to collect donations for the fight against Corona. On May 15, 2020 the band will give their first car concert in Moers and will perform next to Artefuckt and Neurotox on July 31, 2020 on the cultural stage at Messe Karlsruhe .

style

Stylistically, Eizbrand move between German rock and influences from punk rock and metal . The exclusively German texts deal mainly with life experiences, everyday situations, social (e.g. against you, changing your face) and religiously critical (e.g. God is black) topics.

The band attaches particular importance to closeness to the audience.
