Jörg Wartmann
Jörg "Warthy" Wartmann (born February 12, 1972 in Bernburg ) is a German guitarist, arranger and composer.
Life
He started playing the guitar at the age of 13, initially as a self-taught and then for four years as a student at the Bernburg Music School. He played with bands such as Living Strings, Minaton, Nedy John Cross, Down Below , Evidence One and Justice , appeared with them in concerts as opening acts for Deep Purple , Ronnie James Dio or Simple Minds and many others and played at festivals such as E.g .: Summer Breeze and Earthshaker Fest .
Jörg Wartmann has been playing regularly in studios since 1997, initially for his own bands and later for other artists. Since 2007 he has been working as a studio musician, arranger and composer for bands and artists such as Unheilig , Frei.Wild , Kastelruther Spatzen , Beatrice Egli , Nik P. , Alexander Klaws , Eisbrecher or Hämatom (band) and plays and arranges a.o. a. for the producers Alexander Lysiakow , Henning Verlage , Mathias Roska, Andreas Bärtels and Charlie Bauerfeind .
In 2008 he toured Germany as a representative of the Guitar Hero World Tour. In 2009 he released his first solo album called Triumph of Fantasy , which featured thirteen musicians - among them Markus Grosskopf and Daniel Löble from Helloween .
From 2011 to 2016, Wartmann wrote the workshop Sounds like… for the studio magazine Sound & Recording . He simulated well-known guitar sounds in the computer. Since 2012 he has been active for the charity project Wilde Flamme of the band Frei.Wild to support the South Tyrolean children's village in Brixen .
Meanwhile, Warthy was represented over 100 times in the official charts in Germany, Austria & Switzerland. There were 11 places 1 & 36 times it was a single-digit placement. The publications he was involved in have been awarded 34 platinum & 42 gold medals.
