The Troglauer Buam (later "Troglauer") are a German rock band that was founded in 2004 in Troglau near Kastl in the Tirschenreuth district in Upper Palatinate ( Bavaria ). Initially as a pure cover band , they mixed elements of folk music with modern and classic rock songs. The band itself calls this combination "Heavy Volxmusik". The group's own compositions were added later.

The band name refers to the place where the band was founded, where the “Muhbarack”, the band's original rehearsal room, is located. This is housed in an old cowshed.

Band history

Daniel "Danny" Raps, Markus "Mike" Raps and Dominik "Nicki" Brand have played together in the cover band "Promise" since 1995 . They shared the rehearsal room with another cover band "Voices", in which Thomas "Domml" Wöhrl sang and Thomas "Willi" Seitz played the drums.

Initially, the Troglauers were intended as a fun project for a one-off appearance on July 4th, 2004. Over time, the Troglauers' stage activities increased, so that all musicians gave up their original bands and only played with the Troglauers. The Troglauer performance area expanded to all of Bavaria and parts of Austria.
