The AlpenFlair -Festival on the old NATO area in Naz-Sciaves near the city of Brixen is the largest festival in South Tyrol with 20,000 to 30,000 visitors annually . The music festival, which tries to combine folk music , Schlager and German rock , goes back to the initiative of the band Frei.Wild and is organized by a company of the same name.

history

2011

The festival goes back to a so-called "truck inauguration". After Frei.Wild reached number two in the German album charts with their album Gegengift and were nominated as “Gruppe Rock / Alternative (national)”, they had a 40-ton truck built , which has accompanied them on tours ever since. There is a museum in this one. The inauguration took place on the fairground in the center of Naz in front of around 3500 fans. On that day, Raven Henley performed in addition to Frei.Wild .

2012

In 2012 the festival, which was originally planned as a one-off event, was enlarged and named AlpenFlair. The festival was supposed to combine folk and rock music. On June 22nd, 2012 pop singer Jürgen Drews , the dancehall band 4twenty , Volxrock , Dorfrocker and Frei.Wild performed an unplugged show . On the second day, The Baseballs , Bad Jokers, Frei.Wild and the Rammstein Coverband Stahlzeit played . A popular supporting program was planned for Sunday.

2013

In 2013 the festival was enlarged again. In 2013, around 22,000 visitors took part in another three days. The festival thus developed into the largest music festival in South Tyrol. In the run-up there were problems with Heino's acceptance , whose management was confronted with Philipp Burger's right-wing past. Heino himself stated that he did not know anything about this band and appeared on the main stage of the festival on Friday. In a later published statement, he thanked the organizers and his fans. He also appeared at the follow-up events.

The popular supporting program therefore ran for the entire three days.
