Elisabeth Röhm (born April 28, 1973 in Düsseldorf , North Rhine-Westphalia ) is a German - American actress .

life and career

Her parents moved her to New York City before she was one year old and she grew up in Bedford, New York. Her father Eberhard was a German corporate lawyer . Her mother Lisa was a soap opera - author and copywriter working. Her parents divorced when Röhm was eight or nine years old. Röhm attended Sarah Lawrence College in Bronxville , New York, where she studied writing and European history.

Röhm was best known for her role as assistant district attorney Serena Southerlyn in the television series Law & Order , a role she played from 2001 to 2005. Her first major television role was Dorothy "Village" Hayes in Love, Lies, and Passion (1997). She also had a recurring guest role as police officer Kate Lockley on the series Angel and a lead role in the drama Bull .

Röhm has been married to the entrepreneur Ron Wooster since 2007 . On April 10, 2008, Röhm gave birth to their first child, a daughter, in Los Angeles .
