Elzan Bibić (born January 8, 1999 in Karajukića Bunari ) is a Serbian middle and long distance runner .

Athletic career

Elzan Bibić gained his first international experience in 2015 when he won the gold medal in the 3000 meter run at the European Youth Olympic Festival (EYOF) in Tbilisi in 8: 50.10 minutes and the 1500 meters in 4: 01.6 minutes Silver medal secured. In the following year he won the first European Youth Championships there in 8: 09.06 min and finished eighth over 800 meters in 1: 56.12 min. Then he reached eighth place in the 5000 meter run at the U20 World Championships in Bydgoszcz in 13: 51.40 minutes and finished eleventh over 1500 meters in 3: 51.58 minutes. In 2018 he did not reach the finish line at the Mediterranean Games in Tarragona in the 1500 meter run and finished 13th over 5000 meters in 14: 32.05 minutes. He then finished sixth and eighth at the U20 World Championships in Tampere in 3: 44.65 min and 14: 15.37 min. In December he then secured the bronze medal in the U20 category at the European Cross Country Championships in Tilburg after 18:11 minutes behind the Norwegian Jakob Ingebrigtsen and Ouassim Oumaiz from Spain. The following year he failed at the European Indoor Championships in Glasgow with 3: 47.94 minutes in the preliminary round over 1500 meters and then won the bronze medal behind the Spaniard Ignacio Fontes and Piers at the U23 European Championships in Gävle in 3: 50.90 minutes Copeland from the United Kingdom. He also finished eighth over 5000 meters in 14: 26.40 minutes. Towards the end of the year he won the silver medal at the European Cross Country Championships in Lisbon after 24:25 minutes in the U23 class behind French Jimmy Gressier .

In 2016, 2018 and 2019 Bibić became Serbian champion in the 1,500 meter run outdoors and in 2019 also over 800 meters. In the hall he won over 1500 meters in 2018 and 2019 and in 2016, 2018, 2019 and 2020 in the 3000 meter run.
