Career

society

Emmanuel Koné started his professional career at ASEC Mimosas in 2003 in the Ivorian Ligue 1 . In February 2008 he switched to CFR Cluj for around € 500,000 . He made his debut for Cluj on August 29, 2008 when he came on for Emmanuel Culio in the 83rd minute of the game. The game against Politehnica Iași ended 0-0. For the 2009/10 season he was awarded to the promoted Internațional Curtea de Argeş , with whom he managed to stay in the league in a sporting way (the club had to be relegated for financial reasons). He returned to Cluj and was part of the extended team in the 2010/11 season with 21 appearances. After he was only used once in the first half of the 2011/12 season, he left the club during the winter break for French second division club CS Sedan . In Sedan, he and his team barely missed promotion to Ligue 1 in fourth place in the 2011/12 season . A year later he had to relegate and left the club for the Greek first division club Levadiakos . There he ended the 2013/14 season on a place in midfield. His contract was terminated at the end of February 2015. Koné was without a club for half a year before the Greek second division team Apollon Smyrnis signed him in August 2015 . He became a regular straight away and fought for promotion to the Super League with his club, which finally succeeded in 2017.

National team

Koné made his debut for the Ivory Coast national team on June 8, 2008, when he came on for Emerse Faé in the 64th minute of the game. The Ivory Coast played against Madagascar and reached a 0-0.

Koné represented the Ivory Coast at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing. The Ivory Coast had to admit defeat to Nigeria in the quarterfinals . Koné came up with 3 games. He also took part in the Africa Cup of 2010 and the 2010 World Cup, but was not used there.
