Endseeker is a Hamburg death metal band that was founded in 2014.

history

The band was founded in 2014 by guitarist Jury Kowalczyk and drummer André Kummer. After the first songs had been written, the line-up was supplemented in 2015 by bassist Torsten Eggert, guitarist Ben Liepelt and singer Lennart "Lenny" Osterhus. In July 2015 the recordings for the EP Corrosive Revelation in Chemical Burn Studio with producer Alex Dietz were completed. The album was mixed and mastered by the Project Mayhem production team (Alex Dietz, Eike O. Freese ). The EP was released in November of that year by FDA Rekotz . Among other things, it contains a cover version of the Entombed song Supposed to Rot . In October 2017 the debut album Flesh Hammer Prophecy was released , which was recorded with Eike O. Freese in the Hamburg Chameleon Studios . The album includes a cover version of the Bolt Thrower song Powder Burns and the song Black Star Rising , in which former Morgoth member Marc Grewe can be heard as a guest singer. The following year the group was represented at the Party.San , among other things . In their career, the band has also appeared at festivals such as Summer Breeze , In Flammen Open Air , Angerfest , Grind the Nazi Scum , Holsteiner Death Fest , World Turbo Youth Days and the Ear Terror Festival . She has also played with bands such as Kvelertak , Mantar , Lifeless , Demonbreed , Negator and Weak Aside, among others .

style

In his review of Corrosive Revelation Patrick Schmidt wrote that it contains classic Death Metal in the style of Swedish bands such as Entrails , Demonical , Entombed and Dismember . In a later edition, Schmidt Flesh reviewed Hammer Prophecy and described the music as classic Swedish-style death metal, which could be described as a mixture of Dismember, Demonical and Grave . Fast playing guitars, interspersed grooves and brutal vocals are particularly characteristic . An issue later, Schmidt wrote again that Flesh Hammer Prophecy is suitable for fans of Swedish Death Metal. In an interview with him, Osterhus stated that Jury Kowalczyk is mainly responsible for writing the songs. Osterhus particularly highlighted Kowalczyk's talent for writing Entombed-style riffs . The lyrics would mostly come from Osterhus.

Thomas Strater from Metal Hammer also reviewed Corrosive Revelation and also saw parallels to Entombed, Dismember and Grave. He described the singing as cool and over the top, consisting of understandable shouts and occasional squeals . The speed of the songs is variable. Sebastian Kessler from the same magazine assigned Flesh Hammer Prophecy to the classically played Death Metal in the Swedish style. As references he gave Grave, Entombed and Unleashed . This mixture is enriched by a groove in the style of Bolt Thrower. The vocals consist of “hoarse screams and carefully placed squeals, while bulldozer riffs plow through the pit and are flanked by melodic runaways”.
