Engelbert Niebler

Engelbert Niebler (born August 13, 1921 in Lauterhofen (Upper Palatinate), † June 29, 2006 in Munich ) was a German lawyer . From 1975 to 1987 he was a judge at the Federal Constitutional Court .

Life

Engelbert Niebler studied after participating in the Second World War in Erlangen and Würzburg jurisprudence . After passing the state legal examinations and doctorate , he joined the Bavarian judicial and administrative service in 1950 and worked as a judge and administrative officer, most recently as head of department in the Ministry of Justice and head of the State Judicial Examination Office of the Free State of Bavaria .

He was a member of the Second Senate of the Federal Constitutional Court from November 7, 1975 to November 16, 1987.

Since 1975 Dr. Niebler also worked in legal training at the Forest Science Faculty of the University of Munich , initially as a lecturer, then since 1978 as an honorary professor. As such, he taught civil law .

Niebler has received several awards for his diverse services. In 1977 he was awarded an honorary doctorate from the law faculty of the University of Augsburg . He was the bearer of the Bavarian Order of Merit and the Great Federal Cross of Merit with Star and Shoulder Ribbon and the Great Silver Medal of Honor with the Star for Services to the Republic of Austria . He also received the Bavarian Constitutional Medal . In 1987 Pope John Paul II awarded him the Grand Cross of the New Year's Eve . Niebler was a member of the Catholic Student Union (KStV) Rhenania zu Erlangen and the KSSt.V. Alemannia Munich in the KV .

Niebler lived in Munich until his death.
