Enrique Sánchez Lansch

Enrique Sánchez Lansch (* 1963 in Gijón ( Spain )) is a producer and director of documentaries. The surname is partly listed as Lanz .

Life

Sánchez Lansch grew up as the son of a German mother and a Spanish father in Gijón, northern Spain and later in Cologne . He studied music with a major in singing and completed his studies in Romance languages , philosophy and German with a master's thesis on literary film adaptation. While still studying, he began working as a director and writer of music and documentary films . A study trip to the USA at Columbia University and UCLA prompted him to write a screenplay for a feature film. Enrique Sánchez Lansch has lived in Berlin since 2002 and works as a director and writer primarily for documentaries, many of them in connection with music. He also develops fictional projects.

Prizes and awards

  • Rhythm is it! was u. a. Awarded the Impact of Music Award at the Nashville Film Festival, the German Critics' Prize , the Bavarian Film Prize and the German Film Prize twice.
  • The Promise of Music received the Best Documentary Award at the Los Angeles Latino International Film Festival.
  • The Reichsorchester was awarded the Diapason D'Or De L'Année 2008 and the Choc Du Monde De La Musique De L'Année 2008.
  • Piano Encounters was awarded the second prize for the best documentary film at SEMINCI , the international film festival in Valladolid Spain in 2010 .
