Entre Ríos ( Spanish for " Between the Rivers ") is a country town in the Tarija Department in the South American Andean state of Bolivia .
location
Entre Ríos is the central place of the district ( Bolivian : Municipio ) Entre Ríos and the administrative capital of the province Burnet O'Connor . It is located at an altitude of 1233 m at the mouth of the Río Cuestá Vieja in the Río Salinas , which flows downstream into the Río Tarija . The city is bounded by mountain ridges running north-south and lies in an elongated, triangular valley basin about 10 kilometers long.

Entre Ríos is located in the Bolivian Cordillera Oriental in the transition area between the Bolivian Altiplano and the sparsely populated Gran Chaco in the lowlands. The climate is subtropical and is characterized by a clear contrast between the dry season and the rainy season .
The annual total precipitation is 800 mm (see climate diagram Entre Ríos), the months May to October are arid with monthly precipitation of less than 15 mm, the summer months from December to March have N-monthly values between 100 and 160 mm. The average annual temperature for Entre Ríos is 21.5 ° C, the monthly temperatures vary between 16 ° C in June and 25 ° C in January.

The region around Entre Ríos is still one of the core areas of the Guaraní people, who have inhabited the Paraná basin for thousands of years .
Transport network
Entre Ríos is 106 kilometers by road and a three-hour drive east of Tarija , the capital of the department.
Tarija is on the Ruta 1 highway , which crosses the Bolivian highlands from north to south and runs from Desaguadero on the Peruvian border via the metropolises of El Alto , Oruro and Potosí to Bermejo on the Argentine border. Eight kilometers southeast of Tarija, the Route 11 branches off to the east, which leads via Junacas Sur to Entre Ríos and on via Palos Blancos , Villamontes and Ibibobo to Cañada Oruro on the border with Paraguay .
In Villamontes, Ruta 11 crosses the highway Ruta 9 , which connects the Bolivian lowlands of Guayaramerín in the north via Santa Cruz with the border town of Yacuiba in the south.
