The eparchy Phoenix ( Eparchy Holy Protection of Mary of Phoenix ; lat. : Eparchia Sanctae Mariae Patrocinio in a urbe Phoenicensi ) is in the United States located eparchy of the Ruthenian Greek Catholic Church , based in Phoenix , Arizona .
As Eparchy Van Nuys it was established on December 3, 1981 from cessions of territory of the Eparchy Parma and the Archparchy of Pittsburgh as a suffragan diocese. On December 18, 2009, Pope Benedict XVI. the eparchy around.
The area of the Phoenix Eparchy includes the states of Alaska , Arizona, California , Colorado , Hawaii , Idaho , Montana , Nevada , New Mexico , Oregon , Utah , Washington, and Wyoming .

On August 1, 2018, Pope Francis appointed the Roman Catholic Bishop of Phoenix , Thomas James Olmsted , as Apostolic Administrator sede plena , suspending Pazak's jurisdiction with immediate effect.
