Erhard Paumgartner (* before 1487 ; † 1508 ) was Bishop of Lavant .

Erhard Paumgartner was first pastor of St. Florian and St. Andrä in Zeltschach and Canon in Völkermarkt and held the provost office of Weißenburg in Alsace. On January 5, 1487, he was appointed Bishop of Lavant by the Archbishop of Salzburg, Johann Beckenschlager . He received the dispensation from the Pope to keep all previous benefices . His episcopal ordination took place on March 23, 1488 in Venice. Because of the Hungarian wars between Emperor Friedrich III. and King Matthias Corvinus he could not take possession of his diocese at first and resided in St. Florian. It was not until 1490, after the death of the Hungarian king, he could after the Lavanttal St. Andrä go and occupied by Hungary Castle Twimberg buy back. As a result, he tried to win back the goods of his diocese occupied by Hungary and went to Rome himself to ask the Pope for support. Due to his advanced age, the German king and later Emperor Maximilian I wanted to have a coadjutor at his side, but Bishop Paumgartner asked to refrain from doing so.

Erhard Paumgartner died in 1508. His date of death was either March 15 or November 8. His grave has not been recorded.
