Erich Wienbeck (born November 20, 1876 in Beesdau , † April 16, 1949 in Steindorf) was a German economist , administrative officer and politician ( DNVP ).

Life and work

Erich Wienbeck was born on November 20, 1876, the son of a pastor in Beesdau in the Luckau district. After attending grammar schools in Merseburg , Halle and Zeitz , he began to study modern languages ​​and philosophy at the Humboldt University in Berlin in 1897 . Here he joined the Allemannia Berlin fraternity in 1897 . He later continued his studies by taking up the subject Economics at the University of Halle on, which he in 1901 with the graduation to the Dr. phil. finished. He also completed a year of military service with the 2nd Guards Grenadier Regiment during his studies.

Wienbeck was since 1902 as a laborer at the Chamber of Crafts in Frankfurt (Oder) operates and has 1903 First Counsel of the Chamber of Crafts in Hanover . From 1914 to 1918 he took part in the First World War as a reserve lieutenant and regimental adjutant (infantry) . During the war he was used on the western and eastern fronts. He was most recently taken prisoner, from which he was released in 1919. After the end of the war he resumed his work and was also a member of the Reich Association of German Economists .

Wienbeck had worked as a ministerial director in the Prussian Ministry of Economics and Labor from 1933 and at the same time acted as Reich Commissioner for SMEs. His activity was expanded to include the Reich Ministry of Economics in 1935 . He was put on hold in 1938 and finally retired in 1942. Erich Wienbeck died on April 16, 1949 in Steindorf.

Wienbeck joined the German National People's Party (DNVP) in 1919 and at the same time became its chairman in Hanover. A year later, in the Reichstag election in June 1920 , he was elected to the German Reichstag , of which he was a member until November 1933. In parliament he represented constituencies 18 and 16 (southern Hanover-Braunschweig). From 1926 to 1930 he was a member of the committee for the investigation of the fundamentals and the sales conditions of the German economy (inquiry committee) for work on wages, working hours and performance.
