Erik Malmberg (born March 15, 1897 in Gothenburg , † May 9, 1964 ibid) was a Swedish wrestler .

Malmberg began wrestling in Gothenburg before the First World War . Thanks to regional successes, he soon rose to the top of the Swedish league. He preferred the Greco-Roman style. He was only able to achieve international success after 1920. At the Olympic Games in 1924 and 1928 he failed in featherweight to the Finns Kalle Anttila and Aleksanteri Toivola and the Estonian Voldemar Väli . In 1932, however, he achieved the Olympic victory in the lightweight in Los Angeles and also defeated the three-time German European champion Eduard Sperling from Dortmund . At that time he was already 38 years old.

Malmberg started for IS Örgryte Göteborg and was an independent businessman.
